Healthy Tuna Salad Recipe

After trying a coworker’s tuna salad at work (and realizing that I actually didn’t hate tuna!) I decided to hit up Pinterest to find a healthy recipe to try! Pinterest didn’t disappoint and I was able to find a recipe I liked and make my own tweaks. IMG-1835

The ingredient list was short (which is key to me actually giving it a try) and I had almost all of it on hand. This is a great recipe to throw together on a Sunday night to take to lunch for the week! The recipe below makes 2-4 servings depending on how much you eat and how you eat it. I packed it in my lunch on Monday with some bread to toast and make a sandwich with and only needed half of the container! I’m planning on finishing off the rest of the salad with some wheat thins later this week.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayo (I used Kraft’s Mayo with olive oil! It’s my favorite and lets me pretend it’s healthier than it is)
  • 1 5 oz can of tuna
  • 1 small apple, diced
  • 1 tsp chopped onion (I used a spice, otherwise you could use 1/4 of a real onion!)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Lemon juice to taste
Instructions
This is super simple! Once you chop your apple and drain your can of tuna you will add all of the ingredients to a bowl and mix. Once it’s mixed take a taste and add salt, pepper and lemon juice. Done!
